                      Friends 

Sri.Varadachari was known to have led a very aristocratic life and his friends were many. His closest friends included Shri.Tangaturi Prakasam, Dr.Krishnaiah , Mr.N.G.Ranga, Mr.Anantasayanam Iyyengar, Late Speaker of Lok Sabha, Sri.C.Rajagopalachari, Nilam Sanjiva Reddy, Late President of India, and Damodaram Sanjivaiah.

Shri. K.Varadachari’s son Kasturi recollects that congress meetings /tea party would take place at home and on one such occasion Shri.Nilam Sanjiva Reddy took him and placed him on his lap. On a jovial note Kasturi recollects that he was only about 8 years old and all that interested him in the congress meet were the snacks.

 

Sri C.   Rajagopalachari     was   the     last   Governor- General of India.  On   24th  June  1948  Sri   Varadachari wrote  to                              C. Rajagopalachari congratulating him on his assuming office as Governor General where he wrote “How much should have Mahathmaji rejoiced at your assuming this most responsible office if he had been alive! My heart bleeds at the thought of this.”

Below is the extract of the said letter by Sri Varadachari:                

On June 29th 1948 Sri C. Rajagopalachari, the last Governor-General of India wrote back to Sri Varadachari as below. His reply shows the closeness and appreciation he had for his friend. 

Also MLCs and MLAs from the state of the then Mysore Region like Sri D. Manjayya Hegade of Dharmasthal, Sri A.B Shetty and Sri K.R.Karanth from Mangalore were some of his good friends in the Assembly.

 

One of his close friends Dr. D Krishnaiah usually kept him informed about the happenings at Chittoor and at his home when he was away. One of such letter is seen below. He  addressed Sri K.Varadachari as ‘My dear Government’. In the letter Sri D.Krishnaiah gives a vivid picture of the happenings in the Assembly.
